    If you are considering a 'Canopy' style garage door, these are a few of the pros and cons of this door gear style.

    * Lots of Available designs
    * Lots of colour choices
    * Plenty of materials to choose from (Timber, Steel, Upvc, GRP etc etc)
    * Strong
    * Secure
    * Can be installed 'fairly' simply by a DIY'er

    * Not ideally suited to automation
    * Can be a problem if users are heavy handed ie pulling cable off one side
    * Door does kick out of the opening (approx. 1/3 door height) when the door is in operation
    * Door does take up (approx 2/3 door height) room within the garage where it opens

    If you can think of any further pros/cons you have found with your own 'Canopy' style garage doors, please add them.
